Indigenous airline Max Air has announced that it will resume domestic flight operations on March 21, 2025.
This is coming two months after suspending services due to a tyre burst incident involving one of its aircraft at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.
At the time, Director of Consumer Protection and Public Affairs, NCAA, Mr Michael Achimugu, said during the three-month period, the NCAA would conduct a thorough safety and economic audit on the airline.
Achimugu stated that the safety audit would entail a re-inspection of Max Air’s organisation, procedures, personnel and aircraft.
He said: “It is instructive to note that the NCAA had commenced organisational risk profiles for each scheduled operator, including Max Air, which is nearing its conclusion.”
Meanwhile, Max Air, in a statement, said its resumption was due to a successful operational evaluation, adding that this strategic pause allowed it to reinforce its commitment to safety, compliance and operational excellence.
The statement said: ‘During this period, we worked closely with aviation authorities to ensure that all statutory requirements were met, while enhancing our service delivery standards.
“As we return to the skies, passengers can expect improved travel experiences, increased efficiency, and the unwavering hospitality that Max Air is known for. We sincerely appreciate the patience and support of our valued customers during the temporary suspension.”
