Authorities have identified a 35 year-old woman, Ivanna Ortiz, as the suspect behind a shooting incident that targeted the Beverly Hills residence of Grammy Award-winning singer and business mogul Rihanna.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds from an AR-15 rifle toward the luxury property on Sunday afternoon while the singer was inside the home.
Investigators said at least four bullets struck the front gate of the mansion, leaving visible holes in the structure. Despite the alarming nature of the attack, police confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Ortiz has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Authorities set her bail at $10.225 million as the investigation continues.
The shooting occurred at the singer’s multimillion-dollar residence in Beverly Hills, where she lives with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children. The Barbados-born performer, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was reportedly at home at the time of the incident.
Police from the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to the scene shortly after the gunfire was reported.
While authorities have not publicly disclosed a possible motive, the incident has renewed concerns about the safety of high-profile celebrities and the increasing risks associated with stalking and targeted attacks.
This is not the first security scare involving the global pop star. In 2018, a man broke into her residence in the Hollywood Hills after scaling a fence surrounding the property. Prosecutors from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office later identified the suspect as Eduardo Leon.
Leon reportedly entered the property while the singer was away and remained inside the home for approximately 12 hours before being discovered by one of her assistants.
He was subsequently arrested and later pleaded no contest to stalking charges. As part of the court ruling, he received a 10-year stay-away order prohibiting him from approaching the singer.
The latest incident has once again drawn attention to the persistent security threats faced by global celebrities, particularly those living in high-value residential neighborhoods in Southern California. Police say investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
