Personnel of the Joint Task Force (North-East), operating under Operation Hadin Kai, have detained individuals suspected of aiding terrorist groups and seized drones along with other logistical materials during coordinated military actions carried out in Adamawa and Borno states.

In a statement released in Maiduguri, the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, explained that troops from Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade, working alongside local vigilantes and hunters, arrested a 28-year-old suspect identified as Ismail Muhammed on Thursday.

According to the military, the suspect is believed to have been supplying logistical support to insurgent elements operating in the region.

The arrest occurred in the Visik General area within Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

“Items recovered from the suspect included one AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements, and assorted foodstuffs. The suspect is currently in custody, undergoing further investigation,” the statement said.

Uba further disclosed that in a separate mission conducted in Madagali Local Government Area, troops launched an ambush along the Visik River line, where a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa was neutralised.

During that operation, security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with ammunition.

The Theatre Command spokesman also revealed that troops acting on credible intelligence apprehended a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Gubula, at Madagali Motor Park. He is alleged to have been collaborating with terrorist elements and supplying drones for their activities.

According to the statement, security operatives confiscated two aerial drones, related accessories, and 20 solar-powered power banks from the suspect.

Military authorities stated that the drones were allegedly intended for use by insurgents for weaponisation and operational missions.

In another development within Sector 2, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working together with local vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, successfully repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State.

During the encounter, a suspected informant attempting to infiltrate defensive lines was neutralised, and additional logistical materials were recovered.

The military noted that these actions are part of sustained efforts to break up insurgent supply channels, weaken logistical support systems, and strengthen overall security across the North-East region.

What you should know

Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have intensified operations in Adamawa and Borno states, resulting in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators and the seizure of drones, ammunition, and other supplies allegedly meant for insurgents.

A 28-year-old logistics suspect was arrested in Hong LGA, while a 64-year-old alleged drone supplier was apprehended in Madagali. Security forces also carried out an ambush that led to the neutralisation of a suspected terrorist commander and repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu, Borno State.

The military says these coordinated operations are aimed at disrupting insurgent logistics networks and enhancing stability across the North-East.
