Naval Chief of Operations, Katagum Dies

Rear Admiral Musa Katagum, Chief of Operations of the Nigerian Navy, has died.

Katagum, who previously served as Chief of Naval Intelligence, passed away after a prolonged illness, according to the Director of Naval Information, Abiodun Folorunsho.

Folorunsho described him as a committed senior officer whose career was defined by professionalism and dedication to duty.

“Throughout his distinguished service in the Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Katagum demonstrated exemplary leadership, strategic insight and unwavering loyalty to the ideals and mission of the Nigerian Navy. His legacy will remain a source of inspiration to all personnel across the services.

“The Nigerian Navy extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and associates during this difficult time. Rear Admiral Katagum passed away following a protracted illness and has since been buried according to Islamic rites. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

Katagum was widely respected as a senior officer who made significant contributions to the recent operational achievements of the Nigerian Navy.
