Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to African nations and people on the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, emphasizing the strengthened role of the Global South, particularly China and Africa, in the international sphere.

In a message released on Saturday, Xi commended the AU for its leadership in promoting regional integration, responding to global and regional challenges, and amplifying Africa’s collective voice. He acknowledged that Africa’s growing influence on the global stage is a direct result of these efforts and expressed his best wishes for African nations in their pursuit of independence, self-reliance, and development.

Reflecting on the progress in China-Africa relations over the past year, Xi highlighted the successful Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). According to him, this milestone event marked the beginning of a new phase in building an “all-weather community with a shared future for the new era.” He added that China and Africa have remained at the forefront of efforts to foster global unity and cooperation.

Xi reiterated China’s dedication to advancing mutual modernization efforts and strengthening the partnership through six key proposals and ten partnership actions. These initiatives, he stated, aim to deliver tangible benefits to the more than 2.8 billion people in China and Africa.

As China and Africa continue to deepen their cooperation, Xi emphasized his commitment to working alongside African leaders to ensure that this partnership translates into economic growth, technological advancements, and improved social development across the continent.
