The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced that full power supply will resume in parts of Abuja and neighboring areas within 11 days. This follows ongoing repair work by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on a vandalized underground transmission line near Millennium Park.
AEDC, in an update on its X handle, reassured affected residents in Wuse, Maitama, Jabi, and other districts that TCN engineers are working tirelessly to restore normalcy by February 23, 2025. In the meantime, load management will be implemented to optimize available power.
Additionally, reports indicate that AEDC’s franchise areas in the FCT have experienced multiple outages since January due to technical faults, maintenance work, and infrastructure relocation. Despite generating N229.39 billion in revenue within 11 months of 2024, widespread power disruptions have affected homes and businesses in key locations, including Kubwa, Garki, and the Central Business District.
AEDC assured residents that dedicated technical teams are working around the clock to ensure swift restoration of power in affected areas.
