The Ogun State Government has issued a stern warning to hip-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, over his repeated assault on government officials.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the government condemned an incident that took place on Wednesday at Iyana-Ilogbo, where officials of the State Planning and Development Permit Authority were allegedly attacked by miscreants linked to the musician.
The statement described the act as “bizarre” and a disgrace to the state, emphasizing the erosion of the Omoluabi ethos—a Yoruba principle of good character and decency. The government reiterated its commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring that all unlawful activities are curtailed.
Governor Dapo Abiodun also denounced the incident, stressing that no individual, regardless of social status or influence, is above the law. The state government vowed to take legal action against any form of lawlessness and maintain its commitment to a just and orderly society.
