The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has suspended its nationwide strike.
PENGASSAN President, Festus Osifo, announced the decision at a press conference in Abuja, explaining that it followed a meeting with the National Security Adviser and the management of Dangote Refinery.
Osifo admitted that some “grey areas” remain in the communiqué, as both the government and the refinery management could not fully provide clarity. He emphasized that the suspension was done in good faith, even though dissatisfaction lingers over parts of the resolution.
He, however, cautioned that the union would not hesitate to resume the strike without notice if Dangote Refinery fails to honour the agreement.
