Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, was involved in a road mishap on Sunday while on an official assignment along the Daura-Katsina expressway.

The incident, which caused concern among residents, resulted in only minor injuries to the governor, who remains in stable condition.

The confirmation came through a statement on Monday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed. He reassured the public that the governor’s condition was not serious and that he is doing well following the accident.

Despite the incident, Governor Radda has maintained a positive outlook. In a message to the public, he expressed his deep appreciation to God for preserving his life and thanked the people of Katsina and other Nigerians for their support and prayers during the unsettling moment.

“I’m pleased to confirm that I remain in good health and high spirits,” the governor said.

In a more personal statement shared publicly, Radda said: “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concern. By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident—but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.

“Once again, thank you for your heartfelt prayers. Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah.”

Following the accident, Governor Radda addressed the public in a brief live video from his residence. During the broadcast, he disclosed that although he felt well, doctors had placed him under observation as a precaution to ensure his health remained stable.

Governor Radda has continued to receive messages of support and goodwill from citizens, political colleagues, and public figures across the country. Many expressed gratitude that the incident did not result in serious harm and wished him a full recovery.

The accident has once again highlighted the often challenging and risky conditions government officials face as they travel for official responsibilities across Nigeria. Despite this, Radda’s calm response and words of gratitude have helped to ease tensions and provide reassurance to the public.
