Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has praised Iran for what it described as a “glorious divine victory” over Israel, following the end of a 12-day conflict that saw extensive military exchanges between the two rivals.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Hezbollah congratulated its long-time ally, the Islamic Republic of Iran, commending the “precise and painful strikes” launched against Israeli targets, as well as Tehran’s swift retaliation to U.S. airstrikes on its nuclear facilities.
The group described Iran’s actions as a decisive blow against both “Zionist arrogance” and “American hegemony,” calling the outcome “the beginning of a new historical phase” in regional resistance.
On Sunday, the United States joined the conflict by targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, though a classified intelligence assessment reportedly concluded the bombings would delay Tehran’s nuclear programme by only a few months.
Hezbollah reaffirmed its loyalty to Iran’s leadership, asserting that “surrender or subservience will only embolden our enemies” and vowing continued resistance. The group also announced plans for a rally outside the Iranian embassy in Beirut to celebrate what it called “the culmination of the struggle and sacrifices” of the Iranian people.
Hezbollah, which has received decades of financial and military support from Iran, was significantly weakened during its own recent war with Israel, suffering losses of top commanders and much of its arsenal.
Israel’s bombardment campaign, launched on June 13, reportedly targeted key Iranian nuclear and military installations, resulting in the deaths of numerous senior figures. Iran’s health ministry confirmed at least 610 civilian casualties and over 4,700 injuries.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes that killed 28 people in Israel, according to official Israeli data.
