US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Sunday, declaring that any attack on the United States would be met with the “full strength and might” of the US military.
His remarks came in the wake of intensified Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, which have resulted in significant casualties, including senior Iranian commanders and scientists.
In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump reiterated that the United States “had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” distancing Washington from Israel’s operation while expressing readiness for any escalation.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape, or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump warned.
Tensions have soared since Israel launched airstrikes early Friday targeting key Iranian facilities. Iranian officials reported dozens of deaths, including top figures in the Revolutionary Guards and its nuclear program. In response, Iran fired a barrage of missiles in a retaliatory move that has further escalated fears of regional war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the campaign, promising to strike “every target of the ayatollah regime.”
Despite the rising hostilities, Trump expressed hope for diplomacy, claiming, “we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!”
His statement echoed a call made Friday by the current US administration, which urged Iran to consider negotiations or risk facing “even more brutal” consequences from Israel.
During his presidency, Trump famously withdrew the United States from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, reimposing sanctions and effectively dismantling a key diplomatic agreement aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
