The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the successful execution of precision airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of numerous Boko Haram terrorists and the destruction of their stronghold in Bita, Borno State.

The operation, part of Operation Hadin Kai, was carried out in the early hours of Friday, targeting fleeing insurgents in the notorious enclave located in Nigeria’s North-East.

In an official statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the air assault was described as a significant step forward in dismantling the operational infrastructure of the terrorist group.

“The Nigerian Air Force through the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has recorded a major operational success against Boko Haram terrorists,” the statement noted. “In the early hours of today, NAF combat aircraft carried out precision airstrikes on fleeing terrorists in Bita, Borno State, neutralising scores of insurgents in what has been described as one of the most decisive blows against the group in recent times.”

Executed under the cover of darkness, the highly coordinated operation was aimed at severely weakening the capabilities of terrorist elements threatening national security in the region. Ground troops have since begun clearance and exploitation operations to capitalize on the success of the air assault.

The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty and protecting citizens. “All necessary measures are being taken to ensure that terrorist elements have no safe haven anywhere within the country,” the statement concluded.
