Akindele praised Abudu as a “powerful source of inspiration,” reflecting the spirit of collaboration that defines Nollywood’s success.

The Hollywood Reporter’s list highlights women from diverse regions, and the inclusion of two Nigerians signals Africa’s growing cinematic influence.

As Nollywood expands through streaming platforms and international festivals, Akindele and Abudu’s recognition is a beacon for aspiring filmmakers, proving that African stories can resonate worldwide.
