Northern governors and traditional rulers have converged on Kaduna today to deliberate on critical challenges facing the region, with insecurity expected to dominate discussions.
The meeting, holding at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, brings together key political and traditional leaders to address persistent security threats, widespread poverty, the alarming number of out-of-school children, and other pressing socioeconomic issues.
Among the governors in attendance are those of Zamfara, Kebbi, Gombe, and Niger States. Prominent traditional rulers at the gathering include the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Bamalli; Etsu Nupe; the Emir of Zamfara; and the Emirs of Bauchi, Katsina, Ilorin, and Keffi.
The meeting is being chaired by Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Inuwa Yahaya. Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, is serving as the chief host and is expected to deliver the welcome address.
