Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace’s Head of Corporate Communications, has resigned just six months after taking the role, according to a statement released on Sunday.

The airline cited a “higher calling” as the reason for his exit, but industry sources speculate that recent negative media coverage may have intensified pressure on the communications team, prompting his departure.

Dr. Ndiulo, an experienced communications expert, joined Air Peace earlier this year. Though his next move is unclear, a source suggests he may assume a senior position in a major organization, likely outside aviation.

Dr. Ndiulo holds a PhD in strategic marketing management from Babcock University, an MSc in marketing from the University of Lagos, an MBA from Lagos State University, and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

He is also certified in external relations and reputation management from Pan-Atlantic University and has completed hostile environment and emergency first aid training in the UK.

In his resignation letter, Dr. Ndiulo thanked Air Peace for the opportunity, calling his tenure a significant part of his career. “I hereby resign as Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace Limited. My family and I deeply appreciate the growth and development opportunities provided during my time here. Your guidance and trust have been invaluable,” he wrote.

He expressed hope for a continued positive relationship with the airline. Air Peace has not yet commented on his resignation or announced a potential successor.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

The Nigerian aviation sector’s complexities and the intense scrutiny faced by airlines like Air Peace highlight the critical role of corporate communications. As Air Peace navigates this transition, its ability to address media challenges and maintain public trust will be crucial.
